CollectiveAccess
CollectiveAccess is free and open-source, promoting community collaboration and improvement.
CollectiveAccess is software for describing all manner of things. Create catalogues that closely conform to your needs without custom programming. It is used by hundreds of institutions, from national museums to local history consortia, highly specialized archives, catalogues raisonnés and more, creating a robust set of customizable features. The software is accessible anywhere via web browser and is pre-configured with popular metadata standards, allowing for customizable fields, views, workflows, and more. It supports batch importing, exporting, and cataloguing, and can quickly create PDFs and spreadsheet reports. The software includes a core cataloguing and data management application called Providence and an optional public web-access application called Pawtucket2. Users can easily style their catalogues to fit their brand's look and feel, browse with customizable facets and filters, and display content via maps, timelines, and visualizations. CollectiveAccess is maintained by the staff at Whirl-i-Gig and contributed to by the open-source community, ensuring continuous improvement and support.
